Our online trading zone is live and sales will commence on the 29th of March 2020
Selling within the online trading zone is exclusive to active Collector Con stallholders (that is a stallholder who has booked and paid for the next face-to-face event. Given the current situation, this is inclusive of stallholders who have transferred their March booking to our 13th of September event).
Buying within the trading zone is open to the public – so potentially you will be able to reach a wide audience locally, nationally and long-term globally.
If you are an active stallholder and would like to post items for sale, here are some FAQs.
How do I join the group?
You will need a Facebook account. Log into Facebook and head to www.facebook.com/groups/cctradingzone
Join the group by selecting the Join Group button (located just under the banner):
You need to answer three questions and accept the group rules. Your group status will be pending and once approved you will be able to see the group wall.
What items should I post for sale?
Consider the following questions when deciding what to post.
– Do you have any of the items listed in the poll at the top of the Collector Con Trading Zone group? These are items that potential buyers have said they are interested in finding.
– What items do you have that are unique, or hard to find?
– Do you have any items that you could place together to do a bulk listing?
– What will photograph well?
Shortlist items and take photos of them then add them as a listing for sale (details below).
How do I list an item for sale?
Log into Facebook and go to www.facebook.com/groups/cctradingzone.
Under the banner, you will see the words ‘Sell Something’. Click on these words and a form will appear:
Enter a title for the item, the price, location for pick up, a description and add photos. Note: While the description is optional, we highly recommend you include one. The description also provides an opportunity for you to state your preferred payment method, for example, PayPal goods and services.
Select ‘Next’ (bottom right corner).
The next screen will appear. Make sure there is only one tick next to Collector Con Trading Zone. If there are other ticks, de-select them and then press ‘Publish’:
Your item will then be queued for admin to review and publish.
Why do admin need to review the items for sale?
Admin needs to review and publish items for sale for a couple of reasons:
1. To allow for stallholders to post items at their leisure between now and 9.00am on the 29th of March 2020.
2. To make sure posts do not go against Facebook policies.
3. To make sure only active stallholders are posting items for sale to the group.
Will we be able to post items for sale all the time?
At the moment we are focusing on the week of the 29th of March 2020 through to the 5th of April 2020. This is in response to stallholders and attendees alike wishing/hoping that the face-to-face event at Penrith was to go ahead. As the face-to-face event was not able to go ahead, Collector Con decided to trial and online trading event.
Should the week of trade be successful, we are considering having the online trading zone live in the week leading up to an event so active stallholders can list items for sale with the option for pick up at the face-to-face Collector Con event.
